Vitamin D with your DIG

New York City might be known as the concrete jungle, but it has some of the best outdoor spots for picnicking, people watching, and just…vibing.

Here are our favorite places to eat outside that wouldn’t you know, just happen to be right next to DIG restaurants for an unbeatable grab-and-go.

Central Park

Sheeps Meadow. Strawberry Fields. The Great Meadow. Central Park is an icon for a reason: because you cannot find a better place to sit and eat in the Summertime. Only a short walk away from our Upper East Side and Upper West Side locations, grab a blanket, find some shade, and bask in New York City doing its thing.

McCarren Park

The spot for WFH lunch breaks, taking the dogs out, and feeling some Brooklyn energy, McCarren has tables, benches, and plenty of green space for crushing focaccia with friends, or in glorious, glorious solitude. Sit by the Parkhouse and listen to kids jumping into the pool. With DIG Williamsburg only a few blocks away on N 4th St, this is why Summer is undefeated.

Bryant Park

Please don’t eat at your desk. Break up your lunch routine and sit in the best shady spots in the city. When that cool breeze hits and you’re buzzing from a proper lunch picked up from DIG Garment District, it’s fine to admit that midtown actually can be magical. Sometimes.

But as we all know, Summer is best spent in the company of friends. Grab a DIG Picnic Box for a portable, family-style spread and go to town at any of these spots or on a friend’s rooftop deck. If you don’t have a friend with a rooftop deck, offer to share. You’ll have plenty in no time.
